This book is an episode in a series of books on the Science of Islamic Arabic Manuscript; a project in which I have engaged for quite some time now. In this book, I aim to attain the following objectives:
- Subjecting the science of the principles of Islamic Jurisprudence to the principles and rules of codicology, which is still a nascent science in the Arab-Islamic world.
- Adding a new dimension to philology through the use of codicology in the treatment of the manuscripts on the principles of Islamic Jurisprudence.
- Re-examining the published Islamic Jurisprudence content, which mostly suffers from poor publication and bad critical editing, by submitting it to scientific scrutiny that is based on codicology, philology and cataloguing.
- Establishing a catalogue of manuscripts on Islamic Jurisprudence on clear-cut rules that I drew both from previous academic studies and from my experience as a codicologist.
